BRAIN ROT
“Cerveau en veille” is a video project commissioned by the French government (fictitious project), aimed at showing the impact of social networks with their short, unstimulating content. Through this video, the idea was to raise awareness, in a humorous way, of the consequences our brains can have, but also to take away simple solutions to implement.
Context
The project is part of an end-of-year project to raise awareness of a contemporary phenomenon: “Brain Rot”. This is a deterioration in cognitive abilities caused by the overconsumption of short, unstimulating digital content, particularly on platforms such as TikTok or Instagram. This phenomenon particularly affects younger generations (Millennials, Generation Z, Alpha) and poses a real public health and educational challenge.

The project aims to raise awareness of the effects of Brain Rot, without resorting to guilt-tripping or moralizing. The idea is to adopt a humorous, offbeat tone, close to web culture, to effectively reach the 13-25 age group. The aim is also to offer simple solutions for a healthier relationship with screens.
